Salade Niçoise
A refreshing and protein-packed Mediterranean salad originating from Nice, featuring tuna, green beans, and potatoes.
Ingredients
- 1 head of Boston or butter lettuce
- 200g fresh tuna steak (or high-quality canned tuna)
- 150g crisp green beans (blanched)
- 3 hard-boiled eggs (halved)
- 200g small potatoes (boiled and halved)
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes (halved)
- 1/2 cup Niçoise olives, 1 tbsp capers
- Vinaigrette: Olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic, salt, pepper
Instructions

If using fresh tuna, sear it in a hot pan for 1-2 minutes per side, then slice. If using canned, drain and flake.

Whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, and pepper to make the dressing.

Arrange the lettuce leaves on a large platter.

Artfully arrange the tuna, green beans, potatoes, hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes, olives, and capers over the lettuce.

Drizzle the vinaigrette evenly over the salad just before serving.
