Kayseri Style Mantı (Turkish Dumplings)
A feast of garlic yogurt where thinly rolled dough meets a savory minced meat filling.
Ingredients
- Dough: 3 cups flour, 1/2 cup water, 1 egg, salt
- Filling: 200g low-fat ground beef, 1 grated onion, salt, black pepper
- For topping: Garlic yogurt
- For sauce: 2 tbsp butter, 1 tsp dried mint, 1 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions

Knead the dough ingredients to obtain a stiff dough. Roll it out very thin and cut into small squares.

Place small pieces of the raw meat filling in the center of each square and pinch the four corners together in the middle to seal.

Boil the dumplings in plenty of salted boiling water until they float to the surface, then remove to a serving plate with a slotted spoon.

Pour plenty of garlic yogurt over them and serve by drizzling with heated butter mixed with mint and red pepper.
